This was something of a preview for Derf's graphic novel of the same title. It was published in 2002 with the full novel coming about a decade later. It is easily one of the absolute best graphic novels I have ever read. Derf has an underground art style that really works with this story. I like to think that it's not "mainstream" because it's just too good for the mainstream. I've read reviews that thought the story was creepy and disturbing but I thought it was very well done in that it gave a unique background on one of the most notorious killers of the 20th century. Derf actually knew Dahmer in high school and give both an unflinching and and unapologetic look into his past. It's neither sympathetic nor condemning but rather a matter of fact story of a kid he knew while growing up. Well worth tracking down!
