Synopsis:Model Joyce agrees to rent a safe deposit box under the name “Caroline Gray” for her boyfriend Nick. He’s indicted for racketeering and she flees to New York and falls in love with artist Tim. Fellow rooming house resident John, a religious sort, urges her to repent of her sins. However, when the hypocritical John makes a pass at Joyce, Tim rescues her. He says the whole Nick situation was resolved long ago and she has nothing to fear.

Pete also dumps her when he learns she’s been cheating on him. Laura goes to work as a waitress to repay Pete’s money. They reconcile.
