March Focused Auction Closes Tuesday thru Friday

ComicLink’s March Focused Auction closes Tuesday thru Friday! The auction underway contains over 3300 no reserve comic book and original comic art lots up for grabs. This auction is divided into four sessions, each focusing on a specific type of material.  Session #1 showcases select key and high-grade Silver and Bronze Age comic books graded by CGC.  Session #2 showcases Golden Age, also primarily certified by CGC, but including comics graded by the ComicLink staff as well.  Session #3 includes post-1975 CGC Graded comic books and Session #4 is an assortment of comic books that don't quite fit into the other three categories as well as some original artwork. ComicLink is also now accepting consignments, and allocating cash advances (up to $1 Million) for items placed to our May Featured Auction and April Focused Auction.


The scope and scale of the March Focused Auction offering makes next to impossible to list all of the highlights in one article, but there are definitely some stand-out items worth noting.  Three major Marvel keys – Amazing Fantasy #15 CGC 6.5 White Pages (first Spider-Man) and CGC 4.5, Incredible Hulk #1 CGC 7.0 White Pages (first Hulk), and Tales of Suspense #39 CGC 8.0 Off-White to White Pages (first Iron Man) – lead the way. Silver Age DCs keys are also well-represented with a Showcase #4 CGC 6.0 (first Silver Age Flash), a Brave and the Bold #28 CGC 4.5 (first JLA), and a Showcase #22 CGC 7.0 (first Silver Age Green Lantern) also included. Other Session 1 highlights include Amazing Spider-Man #1 CGC 5.0 and CGC 4.0, Amazing Spider-Man #3 CGC 9.2 (first Doc Ock), Amazing Spider-Man #14 CGC 9.4 (first Green Goblin), Avengers #1 CGC 5.0 and #4 CGC 8.0 (first Silver Age Captain America), impressive runs of Marvel Pre-Heroes like Tales to Astonish #34 CGC 9.0 (highest) and Journey Into Mystery #69 (highest),  Fantastic Four #5 CGC 8.0 (first Doctor Doom), Fantastic Four #6 CGC 9.2, Batman #189 CGC 9.6 (first Silver Age Scarecrow), and many more. There are over 1700 items in this session alone, all specifically selected for quality and collector appeal.


Golden Age Session 2 highlights include books like Action Comics #17 CGC 2.5 (Superman War cover), Batman #73 CGC 6.5 (classic Joker cover), Detective Comics #128 CGC 6.5 (Joker cover), a large run of Crime Does Not Pay issues including several highest and single highest graded examples, Four Color #386 CGC 4.5 (Carl Bark, first Uncle Scrooge),  Kid Komics #3 CGC 4.0 (WWII Timely), a batch of more accessible Marvel Mystery Comics issues including #27 CGC 3.5 and #85 CGC 4.0, Superman #14 CGC 5.0 (Classic cover),Tip Top Comics #1 CGC 4.0 (rare 1936 premiere issue),  Wonder Woman #25 CGC 9.2 (second highest), Wonder Woman #26 CGC 9.0 (highest), and much more.


Session #3 includes runs of post-1975 major Marvel , DC and Independents, including the keys like All Star Comics #58 CGC 9.8 Rocky Mountain pedigree, Amazing Spider-Man #194 CGC 9.8 (first Black Cat), Batman: The Killing Joke #nn CGC 9.9, Daredevil #131 CGC 9.6 (first Bullseye),  Daredevil #168 CGC 9.8 (first Elektra), G.I. Joe #155 CGC 9.8 (final issue),  Iron Fist #14 CGC 9.6 (first Sabretooth), John Byrne’s Next Men #21 CGC 9.8 (first Hellboy), Marvel Comics Super Special #1 CGC 9.8 (Kiss),Thor #337 CGC 9.8,  Ultimate Spider-Man #1 CGC 9.8 White Variant. Also included in this session are a group of tough Marvel Price Variants, including Champions #15 CGC 9.6 (single highest) and Ghost Rider #24 CGC 9.4 (highest).


In addition to many Silver Age and Bronze Age lots of uncertified material assembled by the ComicLink staff, Session 4 also includes CGC graded comics, including some more accessible examples of key issues. Just a few are Amazing Spider-Man #1 CGC 2.0 UK Edition,  Amazing Spider-Man #129 CGC 7.5 (first Punisher), Avengers #4 CGC 3.0 APP, Batman #171 CGC 6.0 (first SA Riddler), Captain America #100 CGC 7.0, Fantastic Four #5 CGC 2.0,  Giant-Size X-Men #1 CGC 8.0, Green Lantern #76 CGC 6.0, Iron Man #1 CGC 7.5, Marvel Spotlight #5 CGC 7.0 (first Ghost Rider), Strange Tales #101 CGC 4.5 (Human Torch begins), X-Men #94 CGC 7.5 (new X-Men begin), and many more. There is also original art from the 1940s to the modern era including works by Kurt Schaffenberger, Ramona Frandon, Sam Glanzman, John Severin, John Buscema, Mike Deodato, Don Newton and more.
