Completely Stoned: My Turok Son of Stone/ Dinosaur Hunter Collection
This is a representative sampling from my personal Turok Son of Stone/ Dinosaur Hunter slabbed comic book collection. I tried to get a good sample from my sets of variants, issues from all publishers I have, pedigrees/ provenances, signed books, foreign editions and what have you.
Needless to say I've been a huge fan of this series & character for almost 40 years, and this is the book which first got me into the hobby. It's interesting that the character has lasted this long and as of this writing (2014) remains in print; I guess the concept of 'time displaced action heroes' and, well, 'native Americans versus Dinosaurs' is timeless (pun intended!). Personally,I've always been particularly enthralled by the beautifully painted cover art of the early Dell & Gold Key issues and this is what got me started collecting these in slabbed/ preserved form (as the original copies I have, handed down to me by my dad, are pretty battered).
My complete 1954 Dell/Gold Key 'Completely Stoned' set won a Best in Silver Age award from CGC in 2011 which was a hobby/ collecting journey highlight for me and which I thought was really cool lol!
